The Department of Chemical Engineering at West Virginia University has a long history of excellence in undergraduate engineering education. Currently, our unique, design-based undergraduate curriculum is unique among undergraduate chemical engineering departments. It includes an integrated sophomore and junior year design project and individual and large group projects in the senior year. Our Department is one of the first chemical engineering programs to include an outcomes assessment plan as a component of the curriculum. Current work focuses on further development and improvement of these unique features of the undergraduate curriculum.
